Mrs. Warren's class wrote pen pal letters to a school in Tonga where she taught English several years ago. She also wore her Tonga dress for the lesson on global citizenship.

Principal's Update,

GRAND OPENING CEREMONY

Don't forget to join us on October 4th from 4:00-5:00 for our Grand Opening Ceremony

The preschool parking lot area and front of the school will be blocked off during dismissal time that day.  You can still enter the parking lot to park and pick up your student.

CONFERENCES:
Last Friday families were sent an email to sign up for Parent Teacher conferences. Please make sure you access Meet the Teacher to schedule yours today!

Highlands Elementary Meet the Teacher

Parents must be able to access their Infinite Campus account:

The information the parent enters into Meet the Teacher, must match what is in Infinite Campus.  This means that they need to enter both the student first name, last name and student ID as well as their first name, last name and email exactly as it appears in Infinite Campus.  If the parent does not know their child’s student ID, they should look in IC Parent Portal for that information.

Crosswalks:
The city is surveying and planning where the best locations will be for crosswalks along with the signage needed.  A position is available on the St Vrain job listing site for a crosswalk monitor.  If you or someone you know is looking for a part time job or something that might fit around their children's schedule, please let them know this is available.  Meanwhile, please be aware of children entering from all sides of the school when you are dropping off.  We ask that NO parents park on the south side parking lot as this is for bus pick up and drop off.

SUBSTITUTES:

There is a need for substitutes in the district. If you are interested in helping serve our school as a Guest Teacher (Substitute), please know that we have just instituted a new pilot pay tier structure for this 2021-2022 school year that increases the pay for our guest teachers. The starting pay is $115/day, but increases to $130/day after subbing for 20 days and increases again to $140/day after subbing for 80 days. We need your help! Please apply now at  https://www.applitrack.com/stvrain/onlineapp/default.aspx . If you have any questions, feel free to email ball_ryan@svvsd.org.
