It's less than two weeks until our reunion weekend will have ended, and less than 10 days to either make your reservation for the main reunion event on Saturday evening, October 9, or cancel an existing one. The deadline for either action is 5:00 PM PDT, Tuesday, October 5. For more information on how to do either one, see the previous email sent out September 9.
However, the primary purpose of this email is to fill in the blanks on all the other activities we have planned for that weekend. They're all free to attend, and all you have to do is show up! They're generally described on the Class of 1970 (50 + 1)-Year Reunion page, and I'll share the specifics for each one below.
Note: If you're planning on attending any of these events, you might want to save this email for future reference!
Friday Pre-Homecoming Picnic
Details:
- What: BYOPL (Bring Your Own Picnic Lunch), drinks provided by Class of 1971

- Time: 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM (or later if you like)
- Where: California Citrus State Historic Park

- Cost: Free until 1:00 PM
This was intended to be an informal gathering the Class of 1971 following their main reunion event the evening before, but that was canceled until next year (sound familiar?). We're "crashing" their party, but there will still be many of their alumni that know us and vice versa, so a good time will be had by all. If you want to stay after 1:00 PM, you'll need to pay a small fee ($4.00) for parking, otherwise it's free.
Friday Homecoming Game
Details:

- Where: Ramona High School Stadium
Entrance on Jefferson St
- Cost: $7.00 per person, there may be a senior discount so ask
We're going to meet in the 4th section of the home team side, aligned with the far 40-yard line (see this image from Google). I'll have balloons or something to identify our group, otherwise, just look for the really old people huddled together.
After Game Gathering:

This is the usual dive for Riverside folks, so it should also be appropriate after a football game!
Saturday Morning Mt. Rubidoux Hike

Walk up the paved trail to the boulder/sign where the two trails join (see this image from Google). We'll wait for you until 9:15 before heading up the north (less steep) path. Call me (505-660-0353) if you're running late. We'll meet again up at the top for a group photo where the steps lead up to the cross.
Grinders at D'Elia's

The group picnic shelter is on the east side of the park (see this image from Google). This will probably be the second largest gathering for our class during the reunion weekend, as it is entirely outdoors and there are no vaccination/testing requirement, so everyone is welcome to join in. We'll take a group picture around 11:30 AM, and if others show up later in the afternoon, we'll take another around 2:30 PM.
After Picnic Dinner:

I'll be en route driving out to Riverside beginning Wednesday, October 6, and may not be easy to contact while on the road. However, there should be one more email just before I leave. Remember, the current RSVP list for the Saturday evening reunion is updated periodically, and people continue to be added and moved between the "yes" and "no" categories as the date approaches.
