Our training division, the Australian Institute of Social Relations, has provided high quality, accessible and cost-effective health and community services training since 2004.

We offer qualifications in community services, youth work, counselling and financial counselling. We also offer a Graduate Diploma of Family Dispute Resolution. All courses are blended learning, except financial counselling, which is fully online and can be studied from anywhere in Australia.

With Christmas just around the corner, there is never a more crucial time to support children who do not have access to many of the advantages that are easy to take for granted. The Time for Kids program understands this because it facilitates relationships between volunteer carers and youth from challenging backgrounds.

Time for Kids is changing the way it does Christmas this year by not collecting donations of Christmas gifts to give to the kids in the program. Instead of donating a physical gift, we ask that you please consider giving your generosity in another way.

Donate directly to the Time for Kids program to provide a child with long-term impact, through access to new networks and experiences for their development and well-being.

Introducing Service Spotlight! Each month, we'll highlight one of our amazing services and the work they do in our local communities.

In Australia, an estimated 500,000 children and young people experienced institutional or other out-of-home ‘care’ during the last century. Many of whom suffered physical, emotional and/or sexual abuse.

The apology was a turning point in our nation’s story. It was a step in right direction in implementing the recommendations from the Forgotten Australians Report (2004).

We recognise what the apology signified to Forgotten Australians and Former Child Migrants, that they had been listened to, believed and acknowledged.

On Tuesday 16 November, our Find & Connect Service held a morning tea. It was a chance for Survivors to come together to share and support each other on the journey towards healing. Images of the event are below.

As this will be our final sign off for 2021, we want to wish everyone a happy festive season. We hope you have time to relax and spend time with your loved ones.
