ANGIE'S "FAVE FIVE"

ANGIE JEAN-MARIE | Founder and Principal,
Fait La Force Strategies

My favorite Los Angeles places and spaces...
PLAY:  Visiting the Stoneview Nature Center has brought me so much peace and joy during the pandemic. It’s a lovely community space, full of opportunities to learn about plants, animals, trees, and so much more.

CREATE:  In the last few months I’ve been heading back to the Hollywood Bowl — can’t get enough of live music! It’s such an iconic LA spot and fun every time, no matter who is performing. We are lucky to have this treasure in our region.

CONNECT:  Civic engagement is my love language. I value the LA Podcast to keep me up-to-date on local issues and rely on local organizations like Justice LA, La Defensa, Inclusive Action for the City, Black Women for Wellness, LA Voice, Communities for a Better Environment, Community Coalition, Downtown Crenshaw, all of which do an effective job at connecting community concerns to power building, advocacy, and elections.

LEARN:  Our local library system is so great! The digital tools offered by LAPL make it so easy to learn new topics and read great books.

LIVE:  Street safety is important to me and I want to shout out Yolanda Davis-Overstreet who stewarded the Adams Blvd. Safety Project to make the street more walkable and bikeable for all. I’m grateful to have committed local leadership like Yolanda’s to make our communities safer.
