René Cassin’s
Human Rights Shabbat

10 -11 December 2021
Online

Human Rights Shabbat marks the anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights drafted on the 10th December 1948, co-drafted by Monsieur René Cassin.

This year in particular, many are facing extreme hardship. Our Jewish texts and values are founded on justice and fairness and we must strive for social justice wherever we can. Therefore, we are inviting synagogues and Jewish communities nationwide to consider the human right to food, a right which 8.7 million adults and children in the UK lack.

SAVE THE DATE: Mental Health Awareness Shabbat

7 - 8 January 2022

The MHAS falls annually on Shabbat “Bo”, the weekly Torah portion which tells about the Plague of Darkness, which has resonance with mental illness.

This year’s theme was The Impact of the Pandemic. Living through the ongoing pandemic has affected all our mental health, and this special Shabbat was an opportunity for the entire community to focus on and raise awareness of mental health and wellbeing.

Register your interest for next years event here.
