As a storm rages outside the Lorraine Motel, the tension builds inside Room 306. It’s Martin Luther King Jr.’s last night on earth, but he doesn’t know it yet. When a mysterious stranger arrives with surprising news, King is forced to confront his destiny and his legacy to his people. A gripping reimagination of events the night before the assassination of America’s most renowned civil rights leader.

Cardinal Stage presents "Ada and the Engine," on stage March 31 - April 16 at the Waldron Auditorium. Directed by Kate Galvin, starring Eric Olson (Fun Home), Francesca Sobrer (The Glass Menagerie), Megan Massie, and Kevin Aoussou!
Discover the groundbreaking woman of science whose work has impacted all of our lives in profound ways. Ada and the Engine tells the inspiring and fascinating story of Ada Byron Lovelace, a brilliant female mathematician now recognized as the first computer programmer. At the dawn of the Industrial Revolution, Ada partners with Charles Babbage, inventor of the first “analytical engine.” Together they dream of the future and struggle to navigate treacherous waters of friendship, legacy, and ambition. Recommended for ages 13+.

The Lightning Thief: Percy Jackson Musical
Stages Bloomington and BHHS Theatre South have joined forces to bring The Lighting Thief: The Percy Jackson Musical to Bloomington. This rock & roll tinged musical brings together Greek Gods, mythical creatures and high school life in the 21st century. The cast is made up of 18 high school aged actors from all corners of Monroe County.

Youth Art Contest: Oceans of Possibilities (3/31 deadline)
Calling all youth artists! For Youth Art Month, we're challenging you to create and submit an original 2D work of art based on the theme of our summer reading games: Oceans of Possibilities! The winning artwork will be made into a collectible summer reading prize bookmark! Entries should be 3x7 inches (stop by the children's information desk to grab a template, if needed). Drop your entry off at the Downtown Library children's information desk, the Ellettsville Branch, or the Bookmobile by March 31 to enter! Make sure your entry has your name and contact information written legibly on the back. Ages birth–12.
