Dumpster Day is Saturday, October 10


The Waldo Tower Neighborhood Fall Dumpster Day will be from 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday, October 10.

There will be drop off sites for bulky items such as old furniture & mattresses, electronics, leaves & brush and tires (with or without rims) in the parking lot of South-Broadland Presbyterian Church, 7850 Holmes Rd.

There is no charge for dropping off most items, but there is a charge for electronics:

  • $5 for CRT monitors,
  • $10 for items containing Freon,
  • $20 for LED/LCD/plasma TVs,
  • $30 for CRT TVs 26 inches or less, and
  • $50 for CRT TVs 27 inches or more, wood console TVs and big screen/projection TVs.

Free document shredding also will be available at the South-Broadland site.

All on-site staff will follow social distancing policy, and masks should be worn.

2020 Pandemic Pastimes Contest Winners
Thank you to everyone who entered the Pandemic Pastimes Photo Contest! There were a number of fun, creative entries submitted by Waldo residents. (Award photo entries are presented top to bottom, left to right.)

Based on the level of creativity, originality, and the ability to bring the community together, the following winners will receive a $100 gift card to a Waldo business of their choice. 

Contest Categories
  1. Arts/crafts/other hobbies: Serge Stines, Waldo Wine Walk
  2. Gardening: Pampered Paws, 60 pots of zinnias
  3. Porch or patio makeover: Jenni Mitchell mural
  4. Home improvement: Brooke Mullens, geothermal installation and landscaping
     

November 2020 General Meeting


The next Waldo Tower Neighborhood Association meeting is scheduled for 10 a.m. on Saturday, November 14.

Our guest speaker will be Ben McCabe, Public Works Project Manager. He will be speaking about the public engagement phase of the Gregory Boulevard Improvement Project. The project received a second round of PIAC funding for construction and is in the process of engaging the business and neighborhood organizations immediately adjacent to the project. Attendees will learn about the current design, some recent additions to meet the needs of business owners along the route, and the potential construction timeline in addition to taking public input on the project.
