2021年上半期のプロジェクトやニュースを一部ご紹介します。

NVIDIAが主催するGPU Technology Conference 2021（GTC 2021）にて、QosmoはアーティストとしてThe AI art galleryに出展しました。GTC 2021は、AIとコンピュータグラフィックスに関する多くの最新技術情報が紹介される最大のグローバルカンファレンスです。イベント終了後の現在も、Nao Tokui + Qosmoのアーティストページにて、徳井の音楽制作のプロセスと本カンファレンスのためにアップデートされた最新のNeural Beatboxが公開されています。

Qosmo is joining The AI art gallery at the GPU Technology Conference 2021（GTC 2021）as one of the featured artists. GTC 2021 is the largest global conference providing a week-long event that shares breakthroughs in AI, data centers, accelerated computing, healthcare, gaming technology, and more. The artist page of Nao Tokui + Qosmo is available even now after the event is over, where you can see the process of music creation by Nao and the new version of Neural Beatbox for this conference.

徳井直生著『創るためのAI—機械と創造性のはてしない物語』がBNNより出版されました。アート・音楽の領域で現在進行している取り組みや、AI=人を模倣する機械の歴史などを題材に、創造性の本質に踏み込んだ内容をまとめています。AIやコンピュータを使った音楽や映像、メディア・アート作品、文章表現などに取り組む方や、創造性の本質に向き合う多くの方に楽しんでいただける一冊です。
また、本書の表紙・カバー・章扉のビジュアル生成を堂園翔矢が担当しています。
本書をきっかけに、読者のみなさまがこれまで知らなかった創造性の新しい側面と出会えることを願います。

Nao Tokui's first book on AI and creativity is now published. Based on his past projects, he tried to illustrate AI’s potential in human creative endeavors and demystify the concept of “creativity” itself. The book's cover and chapter door visuals were generated by Shoya Dozono. The book is in the process of translating into English. Please look forward to it!

6/23 (水) ~ 6/30 (水) の間、表参道のTIERS GALLERYにて堂園翔矢と深地宏昌氏によるコラボレーション展示『4D DRAWING』が開催されました。本展示では、堂園が開発した「4Dデザインツール」を用いてデジタル上で形成した4次元オブジェクトをアーティスト・深地宏昌氏の「Plotter Drawing」でリアル（3 次元）の世界に描いた作品群とその制作プロセスを展示しました。詳細はこちら。

A collaborative exhibition between Shoya Dozono and Hiromasa Fukaji "4D DRAWING" was held at TIERS GALLERY in Omotesando between 23 of June to 30 of June.
4-dimensional objects created digitally using "4D design tool" developed by Shoya Dozono are drawn in the real world (3-dimensional) using Hiromasa Fukachi's "Plotter Drawing".

YCAM Voice of Void - Installation

QosmoがVRシステムを担当した、シンガポールを拠点に活動するアーティスト ホー・ツーニェン (Ho Tzu Nyen) による新作インスタレーション《ヴォイス・オブ・ヴォイド―虚無の声》が、山口情報芸術センター (YCAM) にて展示されました。本作品では、1930年代から40年代の日本の思想界で大きな影響力を持った「京都学派」をテーマに、VRによる登場人物への同一化を通して、歴史の再演を試みます。

A new installation that Qosmo was in charge of the VR system by Singapore-based artist Ho Tzu Nyen, was exhibited at Yamaguchi Center for Arts and Media (YCAM). The theme of this work is the Kyoto School, which had a great influence on Japanese thought. Based on the theme of the "Kyoto School," which was very influential in thought in Japan in the 1930s and 1940s, it will attempt to reenact history through identification with the characters through VR.

AIによる表現に興味のあるクリエイター、アーティスト、AI研究者を主な対象としたWebサイト「Creative with AI」がリニューアルされました。本サイトは、Qosmoと、慶應義塾大学 Computational Creativity Lab 徳井直生研究会の協力で運営しており、「AIと表現」の領域において、興味深い研究やプロジェクト、作品などをご紹介しています。

The Web site "Creative with AI" has been renewed. This site is mainly for creators, artists, and AI researchers interested in creating AI. This is operated in cooperation with Qosmo and the Keio University Computational Creativity Lab by Nao Tokui, and introduces interesting research, projects, and works in the area of "AI and Creativity".

Written by a neurologist, the author presents the relationship with music of different patients that he had over the years, in an attempt to widen our understanding of how and why we have such a deep connection to music. （Bogdan）
空想の絵本 / Mitsumasa Anno
A collection of 80 paintings by Japanese illustrator and writer of children's books, Mitsumasa Anno. In contrast to the gentle illustrations, the content deals with mathematical and scientific topics such as topology, optical illusions, and gravity with humor. I highly recommend this picture book to adults.（Naoki）
