Campus Race to Zero Waste
Stanford University won the top award for the Per Capita Recycling category (large campus size) in the 2021 Campus Race to Zero Waste (formerly known as RecycleMania).  In this category schools compete to see which can collect the largest combined amount of paper, cardboard and bottles and cans on a per person basis. Results are calculated by dividing recycling weight figures with the full time equivalent (FTE) student and staff population of the school.  This is the first time Stanford has won this category in the 15 years it has participated in the contest!

If you're still confused about what goes in what bin, reach out to the Office of Sustainability. We would be happy to do a short training about proper sorting!
