OUR LA2050 YEAR-IN-REVIEW
As 2024 winds down, we’re celebrating all that the LA2050 community has accomplished over the past 12 months and pinning our favorite moments and milestones.
Check out our special Pinterest-inspired look back, below.

In April, we launched our 11th LA2050 Grants Challenge, with the theme of "Who Can? YOU CAN!" You responded – casting more than 105,000 votes for the issues that matter most, and contributing 9,450 total volunteer hours at 24 activations.
Together with our eight funding partners, we granted more than $3 million to 68 organizations making LA better for all. We celebrated with more than 100 impact leaders at our annual LA2050 Grantee Showcase in October.
We amplified opportunities to make a difference in LA through donating, gifting, and vounteering. We raised more than $30,000 on Giving Tuesday, shopped the Social Impact Gift Guide, and shared hundreds of volunteer opportunities.
We sought to uplift local nonprofits through engaging events and gatherings. A few examples: in February, we hosted an half-day workshop for grantees on artificial intelligence, and in October, we programmed two panels for LA Tech Week.
We curated opportunities for those interested in deeper engagement with our region’s impact sector. We posted hundreds of jobs and events, released informative maps to help us get to know LA, and more.
We continued to build our incredible LA2050 community, together. Our work to make LA the best place to live, learn, play, create, and connect is only possible because of YOU! Thank you.
We're excited to share final reflections from our 2023 grantee cohort, at the close of their grant period.
These organizations have tackled some of the region’s most pressing challenges – from housing and homelessness to health care access and expanding green space – and have created meaningful progress for Los Angeles County and its people.

MAYA JUNE MANSOUR | Co-Founder,
Black Image Center
PLAY: One of my favorite things to do is go on walks with friends at Rueben Ingold Park. The track has such an amazing view and all the trees are so beautiful.
CREATE: I love when I can catch a screening at Vidiots. They have such an incredible curation of films from all over the world.
CONNECT: Black Image Center's volunteer program allows for people to become studio attendants that manage the space during our community co-working hours. For only $5 a day, creatives come work in our space and make new friends, often who they end up collaborating with.
LEARN: Every time I go to Reparations Club, I learn something new and add at least three new books to my reading list.
LIVE: Recently Black Image Center collaborated with the Nature Nexus Institute on a photo walk. They taught so many things about how to be better stewards of the land we live on.
