This week at Southpoint I Thursday, December 28, 2023
As we wrap up 2023, we look forward to what God is going to do in, through and for us in the upcoming new year. Of course, we look forward to receiving our new pastor and his wife, Sabastian and Chantal Lopez, on January 13. It is our prayer, as we enter into 2024, that we will be more intentional about giving God His time, in prayer, Bible study, and service to Him and His work. In January, we will begin with finding out what our spiritual gifts are. Some of us have taken a spiritual gifts inventory, some have not. All will have the opportunity to assess what gifts each of us has. Then in February, we will have our second Ministry Fair, where members will have a chance to survey the various ministries we have here at Southpoint, talk to the ministry leaders, and sign up to work with a ministry oro ministries that falls in line with the spiritual gifts God has given us. If you weren't as active in 2023 as you would have liked, by God's grace, let 2024 be your year to give God more. Yes. Let's give God more in 2024!
Sabbath School begins at 10:30am on Sabbath and divine worship service begins at 11:30am. If you cannot join us in person, you can join us online at www.southpointsda.org. Either way, we look forward to worshipping with you soon.

PRAYER MINISTRY
"Trusting In Trials"
Often, we as believers walk through seasons that are trying and cumbersome. James' words extend grace and encouragement to us to live out our faith, even under pressure-filled situations. Because it's in those moments that faith is tried, tested, and refined.
Have you ever found it challenging to trust God during a trial? Chances are you have. Can you recall how you got through the test? Chances are you have a testimony that was cultivated, that came bubbling over from those pressure-cooker situations. In fact, chances are that one of the key ingredients that got you through was trusting God.
If you're walking through a trial right now, trust God. Even if you don't feel like it, speak it. Consider saying these words out loud: "Lord Jesus, even though I don't feel it, I'm choosing to trust You. Even though my heart is heavy, and my soul is weak, I surrender all."
Join the Southpoint Prayer Team on Thursdays at 7:30pm and on Sabbaths at 3:00pm and 6:00pm. You may also submit your request during Divine Worship and at the Food Pantry.
Total budget needed to operate the church monthly:
$9,000.00
Total church expenses collected through December 23:
$8,449.36
We praise God for your faithfulness in returning your tithe AND offering. Our tithe supports the worldwide church, while our offering supports Southpoint SDA Church. By giving to the Local Church Budget (on the tithe envelope), you are helping to meet the various expenses needed to operate our local ministries and church building.
EVERYONE PLEASE REMEMBER TO BRING
AT LEASTONE CAN TO CHURCH THIS SABBATH!
The food pantry is in need of canned and non-perishable food items. We would like to collect through the end of December.
INVENTORY MANAGEMENT
If you have borrowed any church supplies or equipment, such as tablecloths, vases, towels, decor, or any other items that belong to the church, please return them back to the church by the end of the year so we can do inventory. In particular, we need to get back any camping equipment as we prepare for the International Camporee. Items can be returned to the church office, no questions asked. Thank you!
OASIS MINISTRY
We have 2 rooms available - one is an inside room and one is outside with a window. We also need one male roommate. We will give these rooms back to the cruise line on January 14 if we don't have anyone who wants the rooms. A $250 deposit per person is needed to reserve the rooms. The cruise is scheduled for September 8, 2024. Let Chris Drechsler know as soon as possible if you want to reserve either room.
OASIS / PRAYER MEETING
The next prayer meeting will be held on Wednesday, January 3, from 11:00am to 12:30pm in the Fellowship Hall. All are invited!
