A Pair of Rare and Prestigious 1er Cru Parcels
|
|
We are privileged to be able to offer these two extremely rare wines from one of the gods of Burgundy, Pierre Yves Colin Morey.
Quantities of Pierre Yves' wines are extremely limited at the best of times but for these rare cuvees and especially in 2021, the year of devastating frosts, the quantity was miniscule. They are made by special arrangement with the vineyard owner Wilf Jaeger. Wilf and Judi Jaeger purchased the St. Aubin en Remilly in 2006 and the Chassagne Abbaye de Morgeot in 2014. Pierre Yves Colin Morey has been farming the vineyards and making the wine since. They appear under the familiar Pierre Yves label.
The Saint Aubin Remilly is named after Caroline and Pierre Yves', and Judi and Wilf’s eldest two children, the Chassagne Abbaye de Morgeot, after their youngest.
Available now, in stock.

Pierre-Yves Colin-Morey
Saint Aubin 1er Cru En Remilly
'Cuvee Nicolas et Mathis' 2021
12 bottles available, $159 per bottle (limit 3)
This is perhaps the very best parcel in En Remilly, mid-slope, adjacent to Chevalier Montrachet. This is the proximity that makes En Remilly so noteworthy and top of everyone's St Aubin wish-list. Coupled with the genius of Pierre Yves, this is a very special wine.

Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Abbaye de Morgeot
'Cuvee Clement et Emma' 2021
36 bottles available, $240 per bottle (limit 6)
The Morgeot 1er Cru is large, and encompasses many lieu dits, some are good, some less good, but one spot is truly exceptional, it is the area around the old Abbey of Morgeot. It is the reason the vineyard is so famous and distinctly 1er cru. This parcel is among the best in Chassagne, certainly the best south of the village itself.
We are proud to offer these rare wines. They are seriously collectible, with an exceptional provenance and story, but they are also, seriously good.
