First, almost 15,000 Angelenos voted for the issues that matter most to them.
Then, we asked local social impact organizations to submit their best ideas to address those issues and make Los Angeles better for all.
Now, we're proud to share the 872 applications we received in this year's LA2050 Grants Challenge, live on LA2050.org.
This record-breaking number of submissions includes ideas to rescue and repurpose food waste, prevent homelessness through tenant defense, connect older adults to transit, advance equitable access to parks, and much more.
Thank you to all of the organizations that submitted!

This year's applications are also now available on our LA2050 Ideas Hub, a searchable database of great organizations and bright ideas from all 11 cycles of the Grants Challenge. The Ideas Hub now hosts almost 4,000 ideas from more than 2,600 organizations!

Hip, hip, hooray! We're proud to be back-to-back First Place Winners in the Shorty Awards, an annual competition that Fast Company once described as the “Oscars of Social Media.”
We were awarded First Place in the Email & Newsletter category, the same as last year. Thank you to all of our readers – that's you! – for making it possible.

AUDREY FAISON | Executive Director, Concrete Queenz
My favorite Los Angeles places and spaces...
PLAY: My favorite place to skate is Venice Skatepark. Follow it up by a surf at Breakwater and you have a perfect day!
CREATE: I love going to Artists & Fleas and checking out all the handmade clothes and jewelry from small local businesses. Their designs always leave me feeling inspired.
CONNECT: Volunteer to give skate lessons with Concrete Queenz if you are looking for an amazing community to build relationships with and have fun. The girls will have you smiling for days!
LEARN: I got my Masters in Urban Education: Administration & Policy from Loyola Marymount University. The campus is beautiful.
LIVE: Beach cleanups are vital to keeping our oceans clean and thriving. You can check out the Venice Surfing Association, Dream Team Society, Surfrider LA, or Heal The Bay to stay up to date on beach cleanups happening in your area.
