      Connections Newsletter

Aug - Sep  2022

Greetings fellow Bridge Builders

Welcome to the Aug - Sep edition of our newsletter, Connections, where we share updates and ways you can get involved with our mission. We hope you are inspired learning more about how ABB has come alongside those affected by COVID-19 in Arlington.

Dearest neighbor and community supporter.

This season has been a mix of celebration and mourning as we have attended funerals and also citizenship parties, we have participated in picnics and have visited the sick in hospitals, we have collected furniture for families moving to the area and have celebrated Visa approvals, took a break from the Spanish speaking Bible Study but launched Coffee and Conversation…and so many more events and activities, as it should be when one becomes one with the community and choose a ministry of presence.

But one theme has developed lately as meeting opportunities and particular invitations have been accepted where ABB is front and center which shows that as a ministry we are maturing and growing and local leadership sees us as a ‘Convener’ who gathers, invites and networks with the community.

From hosting Mr. Jason Miyares, the VA  Attorney General and inviting key churches and organizations that represent our community and are doing great things in the area, to also mobilizing people to distribute 400 backpacks with school supplies and serving that many families with picnic food and information about access and resources.

Another such example is with One heart DC, perhaps the largest and most well known Convener and Gatherer in the DMV, which invited us alongside Tree of Life plus a few supportive churches to a learning lab of best practitioners in order to create a model for similar Christian based endeavors.

Also, currently we are exploring a partnership with the Turkey Trot and Amazon to be part of the Chamber of Commerce for a year and learn from like minded businesses and individuals with a heart for service.

Such opportunities mind you, we have not look for but have landed in our lap, the Lord continues to favor us and giving us grace, thanks to your prayers, your involvement and your intentional giving.

We appreciate the continued support and hope that you would consider joining us at one of the following events as we continue to serve people in Jesus name.
