Following the success of our Autumn 2022 Forums the EngBio IRC is delighted to announce registration is now open for our next Engineering Biology Forum on 31 January 2023.

SynBio Society

The Synthetic Biology Society merges engineering and biology with hands-on projects and workshops in our laboratory space spanning molecular biology, hardware construction, and scientific programming.

We are back on Monday 5th December, 6-8pm with ‘The Spy toolbox for molecular team-building through to pandemic protection’ with Prof. Mark Howarth, Dept of Phamacology, Cambridge.

Join our monthly lunches to meet postdocs from across the University interested in biology, engineering, design, computer science, bioethics and more. Open to postdocs, students and research staff from across the University and affiliated institutes (MRC-LMB, Babraham Institute, Wellcome Sanger Institute).

Bring your own project to work on (anything involving lab hardware is welcome), take the opportunity to work through Biomaker training with others or join one of the Beneficial Bio community projects.

Data Pipelines for Science Winter School

Accelerate Science are delighted to announce a new winter school “Data Pipelines for Science". Join our Winter School to learn what data pipelines are, how to design, implement and publish them in your research and much more, with no programming background required to enrol. Transforming Life Science through AI and Machine Learning

This online event will discuss how AI and machine learning are transforming the clinical pathway from reducing drug discovery timeframes and improving early detection diagnostics, to enabling more efficient clinical trials that benefit patient treatments and outcomes. Pint of Science
22-24 May 2023

Pint of Science are looking for enthusiastic, passionate and committed individuals to organise and run a series of events during the 3-day festival taking place 22nd-24th May 2023. We will be bringing scientists to local pubs/cafes, who will share their research stories with the public over a drink. This is a great opportunity to get involved in science communication, public engagement and events management, so If you want to get involved, this is the time to join!
