Week #41 - The Jetlag edition

TL;DR: I'm running a weekly newsletter with 5 songs and a short description, and a matching Spotify playlist if you want to subscribe.

For the non-Spotify readers, there is a Youtube link for each of the songs on the cover.

Week 41!

Hello everyone.

A les detailed newsletter this week, partly because I'm still fairly jetlagged, being back from holidays from another hemisphere. (there are some hints of the location in some of the songs)

Lighter / more chilled out songs as well. I'll be back with a heavier rotation next week.

Nortec Collective - Tijuana Sound Machine

One of the main hits of Nortec Collective, which is the combination of 2 Mexican producers Bostich and Fussible, first collided the polka-soaked folkiness of Mexican banda and norteño with the exploratory possibilities of electronic music.
Omar Rodriguez Lopez & John Frusciante - 0

The one-time wonder collaboration from argueably 2 of the best alternative rock guitar players from the last 20 years (I must confess it took me until today to hear about this collaboration album). A very bluesy ping pong improvisation jam.
Murcof - Origin of the World (ft. Erik Truffaz)

Murcof is the artist name of Mexican electronic musician and composer Fernando Corona. His music is sparse, minimalist electronic music, with beats based on abstract, glitchy, sometimes complex electronic percussion.

Madlib - Road of the Lonely Ones

One of my favorite tracks of Madlib recent album, another brilliant instrumental hiphop tune.
Gorillaz - Plastic Beach
Until the next time, Godspeed!
