Broxton Plaza at Westwood Village

The Broxton Plaza at Westwood Village will provide a permanent open space for people to gather for live entertainment, activations, and community events. The Broxton Plaza hopes to draw visitors while strengthening the link between residents and Westwood Village.

For businesses in Westwood Village, the Broxton Plaza is an opportunity to connect with the community in a new and exciting way. The Plaza would go on Broxton Ave, between Weyburn Ave and Kinross, south of the Broxton Public Parking Lot. The Plaza is scheduled to open this Spring, 2023.

What is the Broxton Plaza?
The WVIA, LADOT, and community partners are working to create a pedestrian plaza through the People St Program. The Plaza will create accessible public space by closing a portion of Broxton Avenue to vehicular traffic. The goal is to support and enliven local businesses by creating a walkable, pedestrian destination and producing a high-quality streetscape experience.

Is the Plaza good for business?
Yes! Plazas attract and encourage people to hang out, eat, shop, and mingle with friends.

Will emergency vehicles have access through the Plaza?
Yes. A 20’ clearance is required.

Can deliveries be made to the businesses within and surrounding the Plaza?
Yes, but vehicles cannot drive on the Plaza without prior approval from the WVIA. Deliveries can be walked through the Plaza or made through the alley. The WVIA is working with the LADOT to create a temporary delivery parking zone and a takeout zone near the plaza.

When would the Plaza be installed?
The City of LA, LAFD, and LADOT are finalizing all of the details for the Plaza, and we hope it is installed this Spring. More information will be shared once an official timeline has been set.
