What is left to dream—or to awaken?
Use your journal to end the year... and begin again.
Dear <<First Name>>,
Looking back on a year at Women Writing for (a) Change Jacksonville, we're pleased with our various accomplishments, including many classes, the new Author Showcase and Book Festival, the success of the OCEANS and JUSTICE art exhibitions, the release of our fourth annual anthology, working with many high school and college interns, and many moments of community connection through the power of words. As we look back at the year and what’s left to do—and what to dream up for next year—we're entering a period of reflection and discernment. You are probably doing that, too. Therefore, we offer Carol O’Dwyer’s annual list of journal prompts to help you use the power of your pen to craft your world, to dream, and to awaken what’s within.

It was a beautiful final ReadAround
We closed out the year by reading our words out loud.

A lovely group of writers shared their works based on the theme of JUSTICE or whatever was moving through them this past semester. A warm and beautiful gathering of earnest words and connected community on Dec. 11.

The Last Word
“We will open the book. Its pages are blank. We are going to put words on them ourselves. The book is called opportunity and its first chapter is New Year's Day.”
