Upcoming Education and Support Meeting
 

Date: February 13th

Time: 7 PM

Location: Elevations Credit Union, 221 East Mountain Avenue, Fort Collins, CO 80524
Join us for our February support meeting at Elevations Credit Union near Mountain Avenue and College. The Credit Union is conveniently located next to the Old Town Garage parking. Aside from regular support, we will also be discussing the feedback we've received from the Community so far in our Beyond the Hug Campaign.
Remember that PFLAG Meetings are a safe space. People met and stories shared in meetings must be kept strictly confidential.
PFLAG Fort Collins 2023 Theme
Our theme for 2023 is to go “Beyond the Hug”. We plan to do this by listening to the needs of the parents/allies that we directly serve, as well as the needs of the LGBTQ+ community, and to use our privilege(s) to make a difference in Northern Colorado.

If you haven't yet shared your ideas, please help us to gather ideas for support, education or advocacy that are most needed for the Fort Collins or Northern Colorado LGBTQ+ Community and those who love them by filling out our Community Survey.

You can also join us in the following ways:

  2. Become a Member
  3. Donate
  4. Serve on the Board of Directors

LGBTQ+ Lobby Day at the Colorado State Capitol


PFLAG Fort Collins is joining One Colorado on February 13th for the 2023 LGBTQ+ Lobby Day at the Colorado State Capitol!  Help One Colorado shape the future of equality in our state by making sure our elected representatives hear our voices.  No experience necessary: you will receive training on how to lobby your state representatives and senators before we enter the Capitol Building.  Lunch will be provided by One Colorado.

Community Opportunities

Help a Fort Collins High School Student with their survey on Generational Relationships in the LGBTQ+ Community as part of their Senior Colloquium Research class.

The survey is completely anonymous and no identifying information will be shared.

The details of how the data will be used is in the ethics statement at the very beginning of the survey.
One Colorado is hosting an every other month call where the goal is to build a partnership between PFLAG and One Colorado and potentially grow the advocacy work in Northern Colorado. We would accomplish this by creating an open space to educate ourselves on what's going on at the State Legislative level and to engage and support at the local Legislative level. 

We're looking to see if there's anyone who has a passion for advocacy and who could help us take advantage of this opportunity to make things better for the LGBTQ+ community in Northern Colorado.  Time commitment has not yet been determined, but likely more than an hour once every two months.

  • Use gender neutral terms for people such as folks, friends or everyone instead of ladies and gentlemen or you guys.
  • Don't use gendered terms in your celebration names or choose gendered gifts or activities.
