MEET BOARD MEMBER JIMMY KANSAU

Music brought Jimmy Kansau to the US from Merida, Venezuela 28 years ago. He now is a proud citizen, leading the citizenship ceremony in the pledge of allegiance and the national anthem during his naturalization ceremony. He studied at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music for seven years which led him to work at some of the best music venues in the world, many of these in the bay area such as the San Francisco Opera, The San Francisco Symphony and Philharmonia Baroque Orchestra. He even went to the first Obama inauguration back in 2009.

Jimmy, and his husband John have been coming to the Russian River since the beginning of their relationship and Jimmy even before that! He loves the diversity of the town, the beautiful natural resources and the overall magical-positive energy that the region offers to its visitors. They both became a part of the community about six years ago when they bought a little house in town.

Jimmy has two cats, and has many favorite colors but emerald and pink on the façade of a house a big no-no! He would like to be able to offer his skills as a people’s person and support the work that the Chamber Of Commerce puts forth in pro of the community and the businesses that make it special, like its people. Next time you are down at El Barrio for some of their delicious tacos or a margarita, or see Jimmy wandering around the town, give me a shout!
