Demand for yesterday's 2010 vintage library release was overwhelming! The wines sold out so fast that many of our list members didn't even have a chance to order. We apologize for that, and as a result have pulled together some additional bottles to offer those that may have missed out. These are from the similarly strong 2012 vintage, and with 10+ years of bottle age are also in prime drinking windows.
This release includes all three Brunello bottlings we produce in top vintages:

Once again availability is VERY limited, and given the rarity of these bottlings, they will not be offered again. This release is being sent exclusively to those that clicked on the 2010 release but did not order, so we hope you area able to secure some bottles from this subsequent release if you remain interested.

Brunello di Montalcino DOCG 2012
This wine is the perfect expression of the quality of the vintage, as it comes from fruit across our vineyards, blending the distinctive highlights of each parcel and representing the profile of wines from our estate.
Once the fruit was sorted and brought to the cellar for processing, the juice was fermented in stainless-steel vats before aging in 20-75hl Slavonian oak barrels for more than 24 months and then bottled and rested.
The ripe freshness of the 2012 vintage is still quite present in our Brunello. It is still quite vibrant, fruit-forward and spicy with a red berry profile that is warm and balanced. 2012 is currently in a delicious drinking window with another 10 years of cellering potential remaining.

The Pianrosso Vineyard
This is the most special vineyard of our estate that results in the most representative wine from our cellar. Pianrosso covers 11.69ha, comprised of medium grain soils that have high levels of marl that date back to the Eocene period. The wide-ranging altitude - 240-360 meters above sea level - gives a wide range of flavor profiles to create a wine that is concentrated and vibrant.
Our first wine from this vineyard was produced in 1990 (Vigna di Pianrosso) and in 1995, our first Brunello Riserva was produced using only the grapes from Pianrosso - Riserva Santa Caterina d’Oro. Since the 2012 vintage, this Riserva has only been produced 9 times, highlighting the incredible rarity of this special bottling.

Brunello di Montalcino DOCG ‘Vigna di Pianrosso’ 2012
The intensity of the 2012 made this a particularly great year for fruit grown in the Pianrosso vineyard. The resulting wine reflects not only the great character of Sangiovese Grosso, but also the distinctive terroir of this site.
Fruit was harvested by hand from Pianrosso, sorted in the vineyard and then again in the cellar before processing and pressing. The fermentation was completed in stainless-steel vats that were temperature-controlled to allow the fruit profile to develop slowly and with great aromatics. The wine was then aged in 7.5-62hl Slavonian oak barrels, followed by bottling and resting in our cellar.
The 2012 vintage is still vibrant and youthful with over a decade of aging. The profile has started to turn from gripping, structured tannins, to integrated into the concentrated dark fruit to make a rich, yet elegant wine. This vintage still has many years of potential development to go.

Brunello di Montalcino DOCG ‘Vigna di Pianrosso’ Riserva Santa Caterina d’Oro 2012
Our Brunello Riserva is created solely from the Pianrosso vineyard, as a cluster selection from the oldest vines of the site. The fruit that comes from these vines are the most expressive, concentrated that Pianrosso produces and results in a wine of spectacular power, intensity and represents the very pinnacle of quality that we produce.
The wine was produced in the classic way that our Brunello are created. After detailed sorting by and, the fruit is pressed and fermented in stainless-steel vats before aging for approximately 36 months in Slavonian oak barrels ranging from 7.5-30hl.
2012 Brunello Riserva is still incredibly young and bold in its texture and complexity. This is a wine that has decades of aging potential, particularly from a vintage like 2012. Upon recent tasting, that pronounced tannins have woven into the savory, herbaceous palate that is led by dried black cherries and leather. We expect this wine to only continue to gain in elegance for many years.
