Dear Friend,
It's graduation season – including at Book Harvest!

On Saturday, June 10, 34 spectacular members of the Book Babies Class of 2023 will walk across the stage to receive their diplomas, as their misty-eyed family members and Book Harvest literacy coaches cheer them on. We are so proud of them!

There simply aren’t words for me to convey the magic of Book Babies – a program that makes good on our conviction that literacy begins at birth. By enrolling newborns and providing them and their parents with literacy coaching home visits and the provision of abundant home libraries for the first five years, we build a strong foundation that will last a lifetime.

The magic of Book Babies comes to life through the eyes and words of graduate Nathaniel and his mom Natisha. Have a look!

Is there a book that you saw yourself reflected in as a child? Or one that opened new worlds for you?

I loved Starring Sally J. Freedman as Herself by Judy Blume. I am half-Jewish and grew up in a town with a lot of anti-semitism. Sally help me connect with my Jewish side that I so badly wanted to hide, and also to see a world outside of a place where I felt I had to hide being Jewish.
