Reservist succeeds in sport with the Army
Sergeant Karim is the Regimental Mentoring Support Officer for 116 Provost Company, 1st Regiment Royal Military Police. Alongside this she has been a member of the Army Equitation Association for several years and has just taken on the role of Army Equitation Chef d'Equipe.

From soldier to cadet staff
Captain Frith has been a Cadet Administrative Assistant for Staffordshire and West Midlands (North Sector) Army Cadet Force for nearly 36 years, and has recently received his 4th clasp to the Cadet Forces Medal in recognition of his service.

Annual General Meeting

Herefordshire Coronation Cadet Review
Herefordshire held a Cadet parade to commemorate the Coronation of King Charles III on 17th June at the Castle Green in Hereford.
Over 200 cadets were on parade from Hereford Cathedral School CCF, Lucton School CCF, TS Antelope SCC, Inkerman Company HW ACF and RAF AC from Hereford, Leominster and Ross-on-Wye.
The Reviewing officers were: The Lord-Lieutenant of Herefordshire Edward Harley escorted by Col Andy Taylor, The High Sheriff Mr Robert Robinson escorted by Lt Charlotte Warren RNR, The Chair of Herefordshire Council Councillor Roger Phillps escorted by Lt Gen Sir Tyrone Urch, and the Mayor of Hereford Councillor Jacqui Carwardine escorted by Air Cdre Adam Sansom.

Officer Cadets gain snowsports qualifications
In April, 52 Officer Cadets and staff from Birmingham University Officer Training Corps undertook ski training in the French Alps - a trip which was partially funded by our Association.
The aim was to enhance their leadership, resilience, fitness and teamwork skills, whilst gaining a formal Ski Foundation qualification.
As well as developing their skiing ability in an arduous mountain environment, several of the more experienced skiers also completed their Ski Foundation Level 2 qualifications.

Reservists benefit from trip to Ypres
In June, members of 103rd Regiment Royal Artillery travelled to Ypres, Belgium for Exercise NORTHERN ASTERIX. Reserve soldiers travelled around the Ypres Salient studying the events during, and leading up to, the Third Battle of Ypres.
The Battlefield Study covered topics including understanding the role of Reservists, the significance of the moral component, the geographic framework, combined arms manoeuvre, and the importance of Remembrance.

Employer receives Bronze
The Camping & Caravanning Club have recently been presented with their Employer Recognition Scheme Bronze Award. The presentation was made by our Chief Executive, Colonel Maybery.

Community is key
Our Association and the Services have been working with Birmingham Youth Sports Academy (BYSA), a youth organisation that supports over 600 young people through sports. They have recently moved into a new site in Birmingham at The Ackers Community Hub.
As an Armed Forces Covenant signee they are jointly planning a six-week programme to raise awareness of the Armed Forces and the opportunities it can bring to their young people and communities.
