Learning about university life: Students in the Lower Sixth (Year 12) were joined in the Sixth Form Study Centre by 35 students from other London schools to experience life at one of the UK's top Universities. Meanwhile in preparation for joining West Hatch Sixth Form, Year 11 student Amelia Rayment has gained a place at the Oxford/Cambridge Summer school in July.
February award winner: The winner of the February Jack Petchey Award is Year 9 student Hannah North who has been recognised for her commitment to Dance, her self-discipline and skills as a Young Leader in leading the Year 9 Dance Club.

Hockey success: Three students - Maddie Fitch (Year 8), Kiera Dawes (Year 8) and Zak Bowyer (Year 9) - were selected to train with the JDC (Junior Development Centre) and then went onto the JAC (Junior Academy Centre) through their hockey club, Old Loughtonians. After several trial assessments the trio were selected and now represent their age groups for the Essex County Team Under-13s / Under-14s.

London Marathon: PE teacher Lizzie Edwards is in training for the London Marathon when she will be running for the charity Barnardo's.
