Fellow Republican,
You had your voice heard at least year's convention. Now it's being ignored and no one is standing up for it. If you think politicians should enact the will of the voters, you need to share this information immediately and make some calls.

Fellow Republican,

Immediately after we sent our message yesterday regarding lies and betrayal in politics, we were contacted by D.A. King with the Dustin Inman Society pointing out extremely troubling conduct occurring now at the Georgia General Assembly, which is a slap in the face to every Georgia voter and Republican.

Last year, the Georgia Republican Party, at the state convention, passed a resolution stating that the General Assembly (your elected officials) should pass law supporting current immigration law, including working to prohibit the operation of motor vehicles by people illegally present in the United States. (cite). The Georgia Republican Party also passed a resolution supporting religious liberty legislation (cite).

One would assume that due to this, the politicians that were placed on the ballot by the Georgia Republican Party, a majority of those under the Gold Dome, would actually enact the will of the voters and enact policy that is fiscally conservative and, ultimately, common sense, by ensuring government benefits are only flowing to those people with a valid visa to be here and any related legislation.

Instead, they do the exact opposite, and wonder why voters are angry. Further, the GAGOP elected board is silent on the legislature ignoring the will of you, the grassroots.

They are killing legislation (Senate Bill 6) passed out of the Senate by Sen. McKoon to ensure people in Georgia illegally are unable to receive government benefits. They conducted a vote (when Democrats, "coincidentally", had a majority in the room) in a Republican-controlled sub-committee to kill legislation (SR 675) that would have allowed VOTERS to choose whether or not to amend the State Constitution to make English the Official Language of Georgia (link to Article 1 and Article 2 discussing this). Who is "They"? According to the Dustin Inman Society, Rep. Willard and Speaker Ralston.

Religious freedom legislation also passed the General Assembly, but it's likely to be vetoed. This goes right along with the Campus Carry legislation, that was also likely passed simply to make it appear like "Republicans" in the legislature are supporting gun rights in an election year, even though it may be vetoed as well. In other words, they appear to be doing one thing, but are doing the exact opposite.

The Republican Party has its voice through resolutions. We had resolutions passed. And neither the elected politician leadership, or GAGOP party leadership, is standing up for it.

This is why YOU are needed. If you care about actual Republican principles being enacted into law, you need to act. The last day of session is Thursday. At your County GOP Conventions, let EVERYONE know about what's going on. Print out fliers and hand them out (D.A. King provided THIS flyer for people to print and distribute). Talk to your friends. And call the Speaker of the House, David Ralston, (where both immigration measures are being held up), as well as Governor Deal to ensure good legislation is actually enacted into law. And finally, if any of these bills are VETOED, don't just blame the governor, but demand that YOUR legislators override the veto.

To allow otherwise is to allow for completely unaccountable politicians using the Republican Party to be placed on the ballot and to be elected, then using their power to undermine the Republican principles and priorities that would improve our state and nation.

YOU have the power to affect change. YOU can get more people involved in the GOP by forwarding this letter and showing up to the GOP County Conventions this Saturday (if your county didn’t move the date earlier) and making sure to be elected as a Delegate to your local District GOP Convention and State GOP Convention.

Please see below for other interesting upcoming events as well, and FORWARD this to your friends to get more people involved:
